Injury Prevention

The Division of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is an ACS Level 1 trauma center.  It is one of the busiest trauma centers in the United States, treats more than 2,000 adults and children each year.  The majority of these trauma patients have suffered critical injuries resulting from gunshot wounds, stab wounds, falls, motor vehicle crashes, motorcycle crashes, and other violent encounters.

Our Division runs the Community Outreach and Safe Harbor Programs apply evidence-based approaches to prevent injuries as well as advocates for policies that improve the community's health, safety and wellness.
